People come to coaching for a variety of reasons,
but share a common goal: they want to accomplish something important. Coaches
work from the premise that clients already have the solutions inside
themselves, which may logically lead one to wonder: What does a personal coach do?
A personal coach helps clients to focus on
themselves and their goal, visualize how things can change, recognize
opportunities, and identify steps to achieve goals.
A coach also holds clients accountable, travels
alongside them during their journey, and champions their courage to change. In
short, a coach unleashes each client’s potential to lead a more fulfilling
life.
As
the principal personal coach at Person to Person, Eileen Kelly Burkart works
with clients who want to:
- Change jobs
- Find a career that fits
their values and passion
- Come out of a life
transition empowered
- Discover who they are
and what they want to be in the next stage of their life
- Implement ideas that
improve their communities and their world
- Dream big and act upon
those dreams
Coaching sessions typically take place by phone and
last 50-minutes. Face-to-face coaching may also be arranged; it’s up to the
client. Because it takes time to develop trust with a coach and implement
change, we ask clients to commit to a three-month coaching period.
Clients can choose to schedule two or three
sessions per month and coaching can continue as long as the relationship is
vibrant and valuable.
