Meet Eileen Kelly Burkart
As
both a business coach and a personal coach, people often ask me how the
coaching experience differs in business and personal settings. Although there
are certainly distinctions between the two, I believe that effective coaching
should always center on what is most important— the individual. Coaching is a very personal journey.
My
expertise lies in helping people accomplish what is important to them. I do this by focusing clients on themselves,
by listening intently to their goals, and working with them to uncover,
acknowledge, and unleash their true potential.
Having
lived and worked overseas for 17 years in Zaire (the Democratic Republic of the
Congo), Togo, Niger, Kenya, Jordan, and Egypt, I have a wealth of experience in
working with international and multicultural organizations, including the US
Government Foreign Affairs agencies and American Chambers of Commerce.
Working
with multicultural teams overseas, I observed that participants are highly
cognizant that they must address different cultural biases in order to move
forward. I take this perspective when dealing with any team, as we all have our
unique cultural and personal biases, even when we reside in the same country.
This global view gives us more empathy for each other and allows us to open up
to other points of view and ways of doing things.
My
interactive trainings engage participants because I create a safe learning
space for multiple cultures and develop opportunities for participants to apply
new skills. Training focuses on helping people thrive in a team environment,
become better listeners, perfect presentation and platform skills, and grow as
leaders.
Certifications
I hold certifications from the Coaches Training
Institute (CTI) and the International Coach Federation (ICF), and am certified
to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) by Type Resources.
I
graduated with a B. A. from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana, and
have a Masters of Management degree from the University of Phoenix. I train and
coach in English and am conversational in French.
I
founded Person to Person, LLC in 1995, and since that time have operated the
business in Virginia, Kenya, Jordan, and Egypt. When not coaching, you can find
me on stage singing with cover bands (US Policy, Desert Band, No Fixed
Address), or performing (US Embassy-Togo cultural event; Red, Hot and Blue in
Kenya). I am currently a member of Capital Cabaret with The Alliance Theatre in
Chantilly, Virginia, and live in Fairfax, Virginia.
